EMPLOYMENT OF EXPATRIATE PERSONNEL

Due to the shortage of trained Malaysians, foreign and local companies are allowed to bring in expatriate personnel. In additional, foreign companies are also allow to apply for “key posts”, that is, posts that are permanently filled by foreigners.
There are mainly two avenues for applying the approval of expatriate posts:
  1. MIDA: For all manufacturing or manufacturing related companies, they can apply for the expatriate posts through Malaysia Industrial Development Authority (MIDA).
  2. Immigration DP10: All companies (manufacturing and non manufacturing) can apply expatriate posts through DP10 application.
MIDA application will take about 3 to 6 months to process. It is open to enterprise and company. There is no minimum requirement for company’s paid-up capital. It does not require candidate’s particular for the application.
DP10 application will take about 3 to 4 weeks to process. It is open to companies with minimum RM200,000 paid up capital. For DP10 application, candidate’s particular must be available before submission of application. Candidate’s salary must be RM3,000 or above.
We supply mainly the expatriates from India and China which include positions like CNC Machinist, Manual Machinist, CNC Programmer, Tools & Die Maker, Tools Designer, Mould Designer, Software Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Electronic Engineer and all other skilled positions.
We also assist employer to apply for approval of expatriate positions like CEO, Senior Business Executives, Accountant, Engineers etc. We assist the visa & pass application, DP10 renewal, business employment visa renewal if the employer have their own candidates. Companies are allowed to bring expatriate from any country provided they are qualified personnel. Minimum age required is 27 although consideration will be given to below 27 by case basis.
Documents required include:
  • Company profile, form 9, 24, 49
  • Manufacturing/business/other license
  • Customer order/new machine PO/other supporting documents
  • Organization chart/job description
  • Candidate’s resume, photo, passport copy, certificate copy
